A Christmas Carol

Sunday December 14
Third Sunday of Advent.
Its Christmas tide!!
Time for celebration and festivities.
It was announce yesterday that we could expect the carols in our part of rohini on Monday...
Time for action - make crib, decorate the Christmas tree, clean the housed etc. etc.
Yesterday morning was spent in church and in the afternoon we had to go for a lunch at Uncle George's place for his son had come from the states and his house was being blessed.
Reached back home at 5 and mom said that we would quickly make a small crib. This would be the first time we would be making a crib at our home. Both me and mom had got the miniature statues for making the crib but cud not use it as last year i was in ludhiana and may parents had gone to Kerala during Christmas.

I had left some office work to be done for Sunday which i could see was going to be pushed for Sunday night because of the crib making.

me n mom changed the setting of the sitting room downstairs a little to make way for the crib.
then with very little material we prepared the crib and decorated it with lights.
the crib alone seemed incomplete so we decided to decorate the tree as well. another quick work and the tree was ready to in a matter of minutes. i wud not say they were the best looking crib and Christmas tree but given the fact that all the work was done in a matter of 3 hours, it was a neat job.

mom really felt happy as she had thought that we would be able to make the crib this time as well. it was rewarding  the see the joy on her face.

Monday, December 15
Bunked my guitar class and reached home by 9.15.
fortunately, the carol singers had not yet reached our home.
had my dinner quickly and waited along with my parents for the carol singers.
they team came at 9.45 pm.
i switched on the decorative lights of the crib and the Christmas tree. they looked beautiful
the carol party  sang 3 beautiful carols..it reminded me of the times when i too used to go for carols..used to have real good fun..

people did appreciate the crib and Christmas tree, they were simple but looked beautiful.
felt really good!!
